Product Life Cycle

Himalayan Lifestyle

The Himalayan wool is unique and different from other sheep wool because of the way it's harvested and processed for use.The entire process is carried out with a lot of care and love.

Domestic animals are an integral part of the Himalayan lifestyle. Sheep, Cows and Goats will be found in most of the households. The lifestyle in this part of the world is very simplistic and very respectful. These animals are loved and cared for as they provide Milk, Wool (Clothing) and Manure for their land. There are communities of people who devote their entire lives to take care of these animals.

The relationship between humans, land and animals is harmonious. Each of them is interdependent and would not be able to exist without each other.

Harvesting

The wool is only harvested during summers. The Shepherd makes sure the right amount of wool is shorn to keep the animal warm. Wool is then washed, dried and turned into thread.
Thread is usually made by women using hand spinners.
